Club History
The Columbus Whist Players Society, the First, originated through a vision of people, with like interest and passionate about playing the game known as “Straight” Bid Whist, in Columbus, Ohio and its neighboring cities. Bid Whist is a partnership trick-taking game that is very popular among African Americans. No gambling allowed on the premises.

The cost of a GUEST MEMBERSHIP is $25.00 per person, per month. Payment is due on the 1st of each month. Dues may also be paid annually.
If you choose pay annually, you receive one month free, making the annual charge $220.00. This membership must be renewed monthly.
Guest members will not be voting members and are not eligible to serve as officers or chair a committee; however, they can serve on a committee. This type of membership will be subject to approval by the Active Membership.

BE AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN AS MANY TOURNAMENTS AND CLUB FUNCTIONS AS POSSIBLE.
To become an Active Member, you must be a paying guest member for at least 6 months - download this Active Membership Application and bring it and your payment to the club. Or, click the icon to register online.

The cost of an ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP is $55.00 per person, per month and is to be paid by the 25th of the month prior to the month in which the dues are being paid for. A $10.00 late fee will occur if not paid by the 1st of the following month.
(For example, dues for May are due by April 25th. The late fee will occur beginning on May 1st.)
Dues may also be paid annually. If you choose pay annually, you will receive one month free, making the annual charge $550.00.
